Greetings from APN,

This issue is dedicated to everyone struggling out there in the art pro community.  From techs in Ukraine trying to protect their heritage to our community members fighting for a living wage, there are so many of you working to make a difference.  If it were not for people challenging the expectations there would be no movement forward.  Check out the article section to learn about changes, improvements, and actions going on throughout our world.

There are also a lot of new opportunities out there for the post covid pro.  In the resource section, there are calls for proposals at conferences all over the country.  Get out there and start building your network again.  Remember that most conferences are looking for volunteers to make them possible, and you can often times get in for a seriously discounted rate if you take the time to give back.  Speaking of giving back, check out the Bay Area Women Artists Legacy Project and Girls Garage!  These two amazing organizations are celebrating and supporting women in unique and exciting ways.

Finally, while I like changing the status quo, I truly believe in knowing your craft.  Take a listen to my latest podcast and hear this season’s first Nuts and Bolts episode where I get into ways to avoid a sticky situation.  I give tips, tricks, and advice on utilizing glues and adhesives in your processes.  If you want to push the envelope and make change happen it is important to know your foundation first.

I hope that this edition will inspire you to get out there and start making things happen again.  Whether it is presenting at a conference, supporting another art pro, or applying for the paid internships I am still recruiting for…Reach out!  Learn something new, ask for something better, and go find those people that inspire you!  And then let me know about them so I can share your stories!

Be Well.
Kelly
