Happy Halloween! I don’t know if I’m more freaked out by the spookiness of the week or because 2022 is almost over. This issue is dedicated to those things that are just a little scary, offputting, and hard to figure out. From paintings that have possibly been upside down for three-quarters of a century to lost sea dragons, I hope t brings a little intrigue to your inbox.
People everywhere are looking for art pros. Check out the opportunities section in this issue for some really interesting positions open in our community. This is especially true for art handlers and preparators in the Bay Area. The Walt Disney Family Museum is just one of several places looking for installers and collections help.
If you’re looking for answers or possibly trying to find the question first, check out this issue’s resource section. AIC/FAIC has a Ask a Conservator Panel coming up this Friday and there is still time to get in your questions. There is also time to register for the ARCS virtual conference. If you are looking for answers on how to manage your legacy media collection, take a look at Sasha Arden’s article on the TATE site. What do you need to figure out?
One thing I truly hope is that you will never get spooked by APN. I am here to help, and if there is anything that you would love to see more information about, leave a comment or reach out. 2023 is headed this way, and I am always searching for new things to share with you all.
