n this edition of the APN Wire:

Welcome to the first-ever Conservation Issue of the APN Wire.  I will be honest…I did not set out to make this a themed issue, but there were way too many interesting articles about things going on in the conservation world.  I hope everyone enjoys the info and focus of this issue.  Check out our articles section looking at everything from discoveries in paintings by Derek Jarman to an interesting look at how some museums are getting donors excited about paying for the care of collections.  It is a point we all struggle with and I was excited to see a solution being worked on.  I have also thrown in a few stories about exciting installations…I could not help myself.

Take a moment to look at our resources section too which includes a link to just a tip of The Getty’s fantastic page full of resources for every kind of art pro.  You can get lost in all there is to look at there.  Also, we could not have this issue without a link to the Bay Area Art Conservation Guild.  This is a fantastic group for regional networking and conservation resources.  I hope these resources help those working in all levels of collections care!

I also want to send a shout out to all the art handlers looking for new gigs.  We have lots of opportunities both full-time and part-time.  Art Pro Net is sourcing for a full-time gig in SF with benefits, so email me today at Connect@artpronet.com if you are interested in learning more.  Also, our friends at YBCA are looking for someone to bring onto the team as a Senior Prep.  Reach out to them if you are interested.  This position has a ton of growth potential and can help build anyone’s resume toward becoming a leader in the community.

I hope everyone’s excited about what will be possible in 2020, and the year’s end is a happy one.  Make sure to reconnect with those people adding value to your life and be well.
