In this edition of the APN Wire:
Well, this week has to be one of the least popular anniversaries of all time… one year since we have been quarantined.  It has been a crazy year of sadness and strife.  Our world will never be the same, but I don’t know about you… I am ok with that part.  I think there are some really great things that have come out of this year.  People are reprioritizing what is important, they are considering completely new ways to connect us all, and there is a new spirit of helping each other that I hope stays with us once we return to life outside of COVID.

When it comes to reprioritizing, I hope you will check out our latest podcast and consider reprioritizing your team’s goals.  I talk about what I think is needed to give art handlers and just about any art pro the confidence and desire to make a career in our field.  We need to leave space for people to develop as professionals.  Also, if you need a little help with professional development check out our Bucket List and Resource sections to find out about webinars, training, and funding to help you get where you want to be.  Due to the virtual wave sweeping every corner of life, you can expand your network and knowledge from the comfort of your own home.

Finally, there is hope on the horizon and you can find it in the multitude of opportunities out there.  There are people looking for art pros all over the state, so get your resume ready to go and get out there!  In the articles section, you will find out about big moves that are being put in motion.  Not everyone agrees with them, but it is hard to deny that the momentum is building.  I really hope that between vaccines, support, and the willingness to consider systemic changes in our world, we can find new and better ways to work.  It is so important to value those people that desire to become a part of our ecosystem and foster growth so that they can thrive.

A huge thank you to everyone who has reached out to connect.  Please know that I appreciate each and every time I hear that APN is helping you. Don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know how I can help, and spread the word that you value our content.  Be well and keep going!
