In this edition of the APN Wire:
Well, I don’t think I have ever been so excited about the color orange. How about you all? Getting in the orange tier and hearing the exciting news about the possibility we will be fully back (with masks and common sense) starting in June is amazing. On top of that, there are more job postings this week than I think I have seen in over a year. People are ramping up, getting back to work, and looking for art pros. That includes me and my current recruiting search for a Studio Tech/Art Handler at Preservation Arts Conservation Studio, in Oakland. Check out our listing below to learn more.
There is quite a lot of work being done at institutions all over the world, and in this week’s articles, you can virtually travel anywhere from Iraq to Oakland. There are a lot of groups out there looking to repair, rebuild and strengthen. Remember that these articles are not just interesting and informative, but can be a great way to reconnect to someone in your network that might be interested in it also. Send someone you want to reach out to an article and let them know that you are thinking of them…you will be surprised how productive an exercise it can be.
Finally, don’t miss out on the interesting and exciting offerings in our Bucket List and Resource Sections. I know I am going to make sure and be at the Hingin workshop the RCWR is holding on the 15th. It is free and virtual. I am also looking forward to the latest Netflix documentary on the heist at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. That robbery has something to teach us all about where danger can come from in our institutions. I hope you are all staying safe and doing what you need to do to make it back. Be well!
