In this edition of the APN Wire:
How are you doing these days?  May is here and I think it is time for a little self-care.  It is an especially good time to keep empathy, compassion, and generosity in mind when it comes to navigating the world.  We have to keep these things in mind when we are considering ourselves and where we want to go in 2021.  The year is almost half over at this point and it is easy to feel a little lost in time.  Check out this issue to see what plans are being made and new paths are being found.

If you are looking to find a new gig the possibilities are exploding for all experience levels.  There are some fantastic entry-level and intern positions to get your foot in the door.  For those of you looking to move up, there are some awesome positions opening up at all types of companies and institutions.  Whether you want to be in a big city or off the beaten path you will see something interesting in our postings.

There are a couple of great podcast offerings for your listening pleasure.  Check out my latest podcast where I interview Larissa Wild, who is a big fan of considering the abundance and possibility in our community.  Learn about her journey to being an art consultant.  Also, check out the latest take on one of my favorite topics, lighting.  The Getty has an informative and interesting discussion with David Saunders of the British Museum about lighting from a conservator’s perspective.

Finally, check out our article to see how people are caring for the community…or not.  There are some big moves being made to mend and remedy historical wrongs.  There are also new decisions that will shape the way some museums are perceived in the future.

I hope this edition helps you prioritize caring for yourself and those around you.  Be well!
