Happy New Year!  I know it has already been a few weeks, but I am so excited to launch this year’s newsletters and get back to sharing all sorts of news, resources, and opportunities happening in the art pro community.  Do you have something you want to share with California art handlers, registrars, conservators, curators, and other collection and exhibition professionals?  Reach out and let me know!  From free posts in this bi-weekly newsletter to a whole host of services, Art Pro Net is here to help you get the word out.

In our first issue back there is a lot to take in.  There are a ton of opportunities out there.  Take a look to see who is searching. If you are an art handler in the San Francisco Bay Area, I am helping one of my favorite art conservation studios, Preservation Arts find a Sculpture Technician.  Let me know if you are interested because they are looking for help immediately.  Also, feel free to reach out if you need help in your search.  I do resume reviews as well as recruiting.

There are also notable changes in the 2023 priorities of some institutions that I am excited to see.  Check out this issue’s articles section and see how museums are prioritizing the visitor experience as well as the staff’s needs by making hard choices.  Closing down for installations or limiting visitors is not an easy step to take, but I commend organizations that are promoting quality work expectations over the number of visitors.

Finally, the resource section is full of organizations looking to add positive value to our community.  Big kudos to the folks at Minnesota Street Project Foundation and their quick response to the disastrous weather affecting Northern California residents.  If you or someone you know needs help, take a look at their relief grant program.  There are programs everywhere that are helping people access help and contribute to making things better.  I hope you will join in too.  I also hope that APN will help support you and make 2023 a good year.
