What is it that you want?  A new job, a new start, a better understanding of what is in your art?  This issue is all about the way we search, and for many of us searching for answers is the reason we love being an art pro.  Every day is a new search for answers to questions that we never knew were coming.  What is it you are searching for or maybe the better question is, what is it that you want to search for?

If you’re thinking about investigating a new career path I recommend checking out the latest episode of The Art Pro Net Podcast.  I break down some of my biggest categories for finding a new opportunity that works best for where you want to go.  It is important to consider the mission and model of an organization and pick a structure in which you can thrive.  I also recommend taking a look at the postings.  There are a lot of opportunities out there for art pros looking to find a long-term role in a museum.

Next, take a look at the articles section in this issue and see what other folks are on the hunt to find, or in some cases, have already come across.  There are stories about everything from museums dedicated to reuniting lost things with their owners to scans of ancient Egyptian objects.  Not to mention, there really is no place like home for the ruby slippers that finally found their way back.

Finally, I hope the resources section gives you some places to look for new tools to make your seeking more effective.  From the Mellon Foundation’s search for answers in the ever-important DEAIB equitable practices to the Federal database NSAF of stolen art and cultural property, it is important that we all know where our allies are and how to utilize them.  I hope you will see Art Pro Net as your ally and reach out if I can help with your process and plan.  We are here to help you find what you’re looking for.
